Canon or not canon[]
I was under the impression that Garyx was a core draconic deity. Find me a reference in an FR source for him and I won't get all click-happy with the delete button :) -hash
- I think so too - but I believe alot of the monstrous (dragons, gnolls, goblins etc.) deities in the realms are shared between base D&d and FR? Don't quoute me on that though ;) Zerak talk 14:15, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
I think it certainly used to be the case before the advent of third edition D&D but then FR had to cut down on the number of gods. All the living gods available to worship are now in Faiths and Pantheons (with the monster deities near the back). I'm perfectly willing to allow FR gods from earlier editions of D&D but only if they are referred to by name in an FR source. -hash
- I've added a reference to the mention of Garyx in 2nd edition source material. I had to dig pretty deep for this one though! I thought someone had tried to create an article called "Gary" and made a typo! Oops! Fw190a8 23:08, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Garyx is mentioned in the Grand History of the Realms. An avatar of him came to Toril during the Age of Dragons. Unknown user 12:55, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
