This article should be switched over to Gulthandor as that is the new name for it now, with Gulthmere Forest redirecting to Gulthandor.WendolynCK (talk) 01:45, 7 April 2021 (UTC)

I was thinking the same thing today. Are we sure the realm of Gulthandor and the Gulthmere Forest do not exist over roughly the same area at the same time? One comparison I can think of is the empire of Cormanthyr and the forest of Cormanthor co-existed over nearly the exact same territory at the same time. I have no strong opinion wither way, but want to make sure that is 100% correct.

Ah yes, forgot to add my signature. I think it should be there now. I could have sworn that somewhere it is written officially somewhere that Gulthmere Forest got changed to Gulthandor in 4e, but I am struggling to find anything. I agree we should have it 100% correct before we make the change.WendolynCK (talk) 01:45, 7 April 2021 (UTC)
Did some extra searching and I believe you are right about the name change. In context, most mentions of Gulthandor include it as both a realm and list it with mentions of other forests AND the Forgotten Realms Player's Guide specifically mentions the "Gulthandor Forest" on page 92. I'm comfortable making a rename as per WendolynCK's suggestion and would like to do so if there are no objections. Ruf (talk) 13:06, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for doing this digging and finding these results. You have my support for such a changeWendolynCK (talk) 13:20, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
I just noticed that on the 5e Sword Coast Map, the high resolution one, the area is referred to as 'Gulthmere,' not Gulthandor or 'Gulthmere Forest.' Maybe the name reverted in 5e? WendolynCK (talk) 12:45, 10 April 2021 (UTC)
Great catch there! I did not even think to check the SCAG map. I think this is a situation like Silver Marches/Luruar where it was changed one way for 4e then retconned in 5e. IMO we should keep the name as Gulthmere, with an "AKA as Gulthandor" in the header paragraph, then update the article body with the most-current information. A far as I am aware, there is no 5e content describing that region of Faerûn. Ruf (talk) 10:38, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
Sounds great! Yes, the last known information on the area to me is The Reaverwhich came out in 2014, so maybe early 5th edition? But yeah there's not much. WendolynCK (talk) 10:59, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
