- Many articles use "the Realms" as a synonym for Faerûn or Toril. My impression is that using the full term "Forgotten Realms" is usually reserved for out-of-universe discussions about the campaign setting. —Moviesign (talk) 13:42, June 29, 2015 (UTC)
- It wouldn't be crunch (it's not rules), but it is an out-of-universe or out-of-character POV. "Realms" or "realms" is pretty common in in-universe lore in the sourcebooks, though I don't know about "Forgotten Realms" (why would they call themselves forgotten)?
