Coin SizeEdit

Has the average coin size changed in 4e and 5e? I ask, because in B/X,[1] 1e, 2e, and 3e, it is specifically stated that all coins (including silver) are the size and of a US half-dollar.

  1. Yes, including B/X; despite the encumbrance value of 1/10th of a pound, the actual description states that it has the size and weight of a half-dollar coin.
Yeah it has changed (the page is cited). On page 118 of Elminster's Forgotten Realms we learn that size and shape varies across the realms. Some have holes punched in them, some are square, triangle etc.

That's nothing new; those variations existed from 1e. ~ Lhynard (talk) 20:08, October 5, 2015 (UTC)
