What Is It?[]

Actually, in this case, I think that Category:Celestials is probably the better bet. It is not Category:Deities, else it could grant spells. It is not said in the source to be divine, only that it has a "divine aura", but that can simply mean that it is from an Outer Plane, which it is. A Celestial is simply a creature from one of the good-aligned outer planes. In 3e, such creatures would also be Category:Outsiders, but that's not a 2e term; however, we are told that it is a "supernatural creature" in the source, which is about the same thing. According to Faiths and Pantheons and a bunch of other 3e sources, divine messengers sent to the Prime Material Plane are often simply "celestial" animals or other other creatures. In fact, "celestial" is a template that basically makes a normal animal a "magical beast" and gives it something like an aura against evil. Not all Celestials are angels or archons or whatever.

I didn't want to start an edit war, but I think it should go back to Category:Celestials.

Alright, I accept all that. :) Unfortunately, 1e and 2e rarely seem to care about creature types, so unless there are 3e stats, we have a bit of guesswork. — BadCatMan (talk) 10:53, May 30, 2017 (UTC)
I'd say, if it can't be cited, don't worry overmuch about it. The White stag is *some kind* of divine being - but that's all we know, we cannot state unequivocally that it is anything more specific. -hashtalk 14:34, May 30, 2017 (UTC)
