Tamanokuni was the largest city and the capital of Miyama Province in Kozakura in 1357 DR.[1]
In that year, there lived in the city more than 10,000 people divided into eight wards. Tamanokuni housed the residence of Niwa Hirotada and the most important shrines of Miyama.[1]
