Tarantula

Tarantulas, also known as reikh'irud in Anauroch, were a mundane type of spider.^[1]

Description[]

These spiders were covered in dark brown hair.^[4]

Behavior[]

Tarantulas were generally not aggressive unless disturbed or accidentally agitated.^[1]

Ecology[]

Habitats[]

Tarantulas could be found in the lands of Anauroch^[1] and Maztica.^[2] In the Raurin desert, both giant and huge varieties of tarantula could be found.^[3]

Usages[]

The hishnashapers of Maztica used the dried-up bodies of tarantulas to create a type of construct known as a spiderwalker.^[2]

Skilled alchemists often utilized tarantulas in the formation of poisons that caused paralyzation in a victim.^[5]
