Taste link was a minor psionic devotion of the telepathy discipline that allowed a psionicist to connect another creature's sense of taste to their own.[1]
Effects[]
This power tapped into the flavor senses of another creature from an unlimited distance away, making the manifester taste whatever the linked creature tasted. In some cases, this also established a link with the target's sense of smell. If the manifestation backfired, the only backlash the manifester would receive was a bitter taste in their mouth.[1]
Oral ingestion of poison by the linked creature could potentially cause the manifester to pass out, severing their link.[1]
Prerequisite Powers[]
In order to learn taste link a manifester first had to know the powers contact and mindlink.[1]
Users[]
In psionic terms, taste link was found to manifest as an innate psionic ability by yuan-ti.[3][4] And while typically not a wild talent,[5] taste link sometimes manifested as such for necromancers, whom were known for developing unusual mental abilities.[2]
