The Temple of Torm's Coming, formerly the Temple of Torm before it was rebuilt in 1358 DR[1], was a temple to Torm in the city of Tantras.[2] It also housed the High Council of Tantras.[3]

Location[]

The temple was on the northern end of Tantras[4] on Hammerwind Street.[2]

Structure[]

This rather large temple featured alcove-like side-chapels.[5]

Interior[]

The walls of this temple's side-chapels were lined with burial niches containing stone coffins, wherein the priests of the temple were interred.[5]

The front of the temple had a guardpost, two guardrooms and visible two forges. The right side of the temple had one service entrance guarded and locked by a tooth of Torm. Upon officially entering the temple through the guardpost, three paths existed along the entry hall: two diagonal paths of left and right gates with a central path to the offeratorium. The central path passed by the walls of two rooms: the repair workshop on the left and the storage sacristy on the right. In the back of the temple, passed the offeratorium and the sanctum, was the High Holy Hall where the incarnation of Torm once resided during the Time of Troubles.

Activities[]

Inhabitants[]

The priests were massive in quantity during 1358 DR when Torm's incarnation fell onto the temple. The temple became one of the Church's most famous temples since the mid-14th century DR.

Before their apotheosis, the humans "Midnight" Ariel Manx, Kelemvor Lyonsbane and Cyric alongside the famed wizard Elminster visited the temple to retrieve the Tablets of Fate.

Due to Torm's instigated voluntary believers' sacrifice to thwart Bane during the Time of Troubles, the resulted orphans became labeled the Martyr's Progeny.[6][7]
