Thanderahast was a High Wizard of Cormyr and nephew of Royal Wizard Amedahast.[1] Before becoming High Wizard, he was a War Wizard of Cormyr.[2]
Possessions[]
In battle, Thanderahast rode a trained pony.[3]
Relationships[]
Thanderahast's seventh great aunt was Amedahast.[2] This made him a blood relative of Baerauble Etharr.[4]
History[]
In 629 DR, Thanderahast was not yet High Wizard, and suspected Luthax of treachery,[5] when he discovered that Luthax and Elmariel Emmarask were planning to assassinate King Draxius Obarskyr using a magical beast from the ruins of Netheril.[6] Thanderahast was able to warn the King in time and Draxius slew the beast.[7]
By 900 DR, Thanderahast was High Wizard of Cormyr[1] when he participated in the Battle with the Witch Lords, in which he went after Luthax, whom he thought was dead.[8]
Thanderahast battled the red dragons in 1018 DR when they invaded Suzail, and helped to extinguish the burning city and Castle Obarskyr using magical weather summoning.[9] He then battled Thauglor on the back of a wyvern, and was badly burned by the dragon's acid breath.[10][11]
