Description[]

The Complete Fighter's Handbook is the 1st book in the Player's Handbook Rules series.

The book examines the fighter class in detail, and kits such as the amazon, the barbarian, the berserker, the cavalier, and the samurai. The book also details new optional rules for combat such as parrying, called shots, and various fighting styles, and also lists new equipment and gives advice and guidelines on playing fighter characters. The book introduced the concept of character "kits," or thematic templates, to Advanced Dungeons & Dragons.

It presents the concept of weapon mastery, allowing fighters to become experts in the use of specific weapons. This system provides fighters with bonuses and special abilities when using their chosen weapon. It offers tactical advice and strategies for fighters in combat. It covers topics like positioning, flanking, and utilizing cover effectively in battle.

The Complete Fighter's Handbook explores the advancement of fighter characters beyond the early levels. It provides options for multiclassing and dual-classing, as well as guidelines for role-playing fighter characters as they gain experience. The handbook offers role-playing tips and suggestions for players to immerse themselves in the mindset and behaviors of fighter characters. It covers topics such as honor, loyalty, and the warrior's code.

It provides campaign ideas and adventure hooks that involve fighter characters and their unique abilities. It encourages Dungeon Masters to create adventures that challenge the strengths and weaknesses of fighter characters.
