The Development of Towns in D&D[]

This is an article describing interesting ways of creating towns in the Dungeons & Dragons game, using 1st edition rules. Watson describes how a Dungeon Master can construct a town in sections from the business area to the harbor district. The article has rules for incorporating various shops throughout the village, such as brothels and cobblers. The author also has crafted a random generator for adding individuals into the city with personality and loyalty descriptions.[3]

A Re-evaluation of Gems & Jewelry in D&D[]

Kuntz gives interesting rules for creating individual gems and jewelry in this article. The author has created random charts for crafting the value of treasure, such as using carats for gems and metal composition of bracelets and rings for use in the 1st edition Dungeons & Dragons game.[4]
