The Frontal Lobe was a tavern in the Upper Heart of Skullport in the late 14th century DR.[1]

Structure[]

The Frontal Lobe was a two-story building maintained in fair condition. The structure appeared entirely dark from the outside, and entry was restricted; uninvited visitors or those lacking mind flayer escort were telepathically, and politely, encouraged to depart, as the establishment could not guarantee their safety.[1]

Interior[]

The interior had been shaped through magic to suit mind flayer preferences. This included bulbous windows of dark-tinted crystal, polished walls, and valve-like doors set on concealed hinges. High stone arches, fashioned to resemble bones and cartilage, supported the ceiling. Deep, resonant rhythms emanated from the walls and floor, forming a kind of ambient music pleasing to mind flayers. The second floor was reserved for dining.[1]

Services[]

Within the tavern, robed mind flayers reclined around ornate glass hookahs, inhaling unusual gases and vapors, while others participated in games of telepathic prowess. Dominated slaves in immaculate white tunics attended to all mind flayer needs with unwavering obedience. Mind flayers selected their meals from living stock kept in a pen attached to the rear of the building, replenished daily by purchases from the Slavers' Market in the Lower Port. Once chosen, the victim was brought directly to the mind flayer's table, a raised platform fitted with integrated restraints and a cage. Mind flayers could choose to "season" their meals with various drugs or psionic effects to alter the flavor of the victim's mind to their preference.[1]

Inhabitants[]

Circa 1370 DR, the proprietorship of the Frontal Lobe remained unknown. Many speculated that the Skum Lord was responsible for its operation.[1]
