The Orc Marches was the name given to one of the biggest orc incursions into the Savage Frontier.
In −111 DR, several massive orc hordes came south from their homes in the Spine of the World and Ice Mountains to devastate the civilizations of the Northlands.
The orcs nearly crippled the dwarven realm of Delzoun and destroyed the cities of Illusk and Gauntlgrym before they were turned back by the elves of Iliyanbruen, with help from Rilithar, Siluvanede and Earlann before they could reach the High Forest and Dessarin Valley.
Illusk's population teleported out of the city before its fall so they were able to return and rebuild their home but Gauntlgrym was ruined. An effort was made to rebuild it, but the attempt failed and the location of the city was lost, not to be rediscovered for over a millennium. Delzoun would not recover from the losses it sustained at the hands of the hordes either, though it would struggle on until its dissolution two centuries later.
