The Shining South is a 2nd-edition Advanced Dungeons & Dragons accessory for the Forgotten Realms.
Prepare to shop the fabulous markets of Durpar, break bread at the bakeries of Luiren, or see the horse fairs of Dambrath. The lucky among you might even catch a glimpse of a Halruan skyship, floating through the skies above the Great Sea, or witness the breathtaking, seemingly choreographed Dance of the Dolphins.
This sourcebook contains the necessary gaming information for a FORGOTTEN REALMS campaign to expand into the countries collectively known as the Shining South.
This accessory is suitable for use by all levels of play.[2]Description[]
The Shining South is the 16th and final book in the FR series. It explores Halruaa, Dambrath, Luiren, Durpar, Var, Estagund, and Ulgarth. The book provides detailed descriptions of the geography of the Shining South, and the climate, terrain, and natural resources are all discussed
Each of the major regions in the Shining South has its own distinct cultures and societies. The accessory provides detailed descriptions of the people of these lands, their belief systems, social structures, and notable customs.
The Shining South also introduces new monsters native to the region, many of which are tied to the magic and unique environments of the Shining South. In addition, new magical items and spells, many associated with Halruaa’s powerful wizards, are presented for use in campaigns.
The supplement offers numerous adventure hooks and ideas for Dungeon Masters to incorporate into their campaigns.
