Thunderball was an uncommon[2] evocation spell of the southern magic tradition.[1][note 1]

EffectsEdit

The spell created an explosive blast of lightning followed by a clap of thunder. It caused damage to all creatures within 20 feet (6 meters), the thunder causing hearing damage to some. A single creature could be targeted, and they were automatically deafened as well as taking twice the damage.[1][2]

ComponentsEdit

In addition to verbal and somatic components, this spell required a material component, an amber rod.

NotesEdit

  1. Spells of the southern magic tradition were created in the Old Empires region and written down with the help of Thoth mage-script, a secret magic language, and thus only usable by the initiated.
