Tests for edition required[edit | edit source]
Recently it was brought to my attention that it makes no sense to require an edition to be given along with a reference unless (a) the book has more than one edition and (b) the reference cites a specific page. I have attempted to accommodate this on the citation template for R. A. Salvatore's The Orc King.
- Without page number or edition: R.A. Salvatore (July 2008). The Orc King. (Wizards of the Coast). ISBN 978-0786950461.
- With page number, without edition: Warning: edition not specified for The Orc King
- With page number and edition: R.A. Salvatore (October 2007). The Orc King. (Wizards of the Coast), p. 56. ISBN 0-7869-4340-8.
