Well met, Aboolio, and welcome to the Forgotten Realms Wiki! Thank you for your edit to the Phlan page. We hope you like the place and decide to stay and explore the Forgotten Realms with us.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful, that explain who we are and what we do and how we do it. You should find these a useful reference, or maybe they could give you some ideas for something to do.

Getting involved
Things to do

It's our goal to be a complete and reliable encyclopaedia of the official Forgotten Realms in all its forms, and a valuable resource for all Realms fans, players, and dungeon masters. As such, we do not accept fan fiction, homebrew lore, and player characters. All information added to this wiki must be attributed to an official source. Information must not be copied from sourcebooks and novels. Please always give a source for your information, and explain what you've done in the "summary" box.

We hope you enjoy editing here. Please sign your messages on Talk and Forum pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, please leave a message on my talk page or ask any of the administrators about things.

Again, welcome! Happy scribing!

Referencing Edit

Hi Aboolio. Welcome to the wiki and thanks for contributing.

Please note that we need every bit of information referenced with a citation. Otherwise, it's impossible for readers and other editors to tell which passage came from which source, and false information can easily slip in. It's much easier to do this first during writing than it is to deconstruct a page and fully reference it. On the FRW, we use footnote references.

You do this by using the ref tags, for example, <ref name="PoR-p67">{{Cite book/Pool of Radiance (novel)|67}}</ref> Put these at the end of a bit of a text cited to that book and page. Thereafter, you can repeat it with <ref name="PoR-p67"/> The name "PoR-p67" is just a tag for wiki code. The full list of references will then be generated at {{Refs}} Take a look at other pages to see how these work in action.

The {{Cite book/Pool of Radiance (novel)}} calls the template at Template:Cite book/Pool of Radiance (novel). This saves you having to write-out a reference and code a footnote from scratch.

If you have any questions, do ask us, on any article or user Talk page or a Forum page. — BadCatMan (talk) 01:50, August 24, 2018 (UTC)
