Velorna Jalaneth was a bard and writer of ballads who lived in the early-mid 14th century DR.[1]

In the Year of the Adder, 1328 DR, Jalaneth published the ballad, Friends I Weep For You. The poem spoke of friends standing together from life until death, including their experiences, such as "gathering trouble as farmers reap turnips".[1]
