Viledel's Isle, also known as the Island of Viledel, was an island in the Korinn Archipelago of the Moonshae Isles.[1][2]

Description[]

It was said to be one of the least hospitable islands in the archipelago.[2]

The isle lay in the western edge of the Korinn Archipelago, near Pandira.[1][2][note 1]

History[]

The island was claimed by the "Sea King" Viledel in the Year of the Tattered Banners, 1228 DR,[3] who chose it because of its proximity to pirates with whom he was at war to claim control over the Korinn Archipelago. Forty years later, pirates sacked the island, killed Viledel, and scattered his followers. In the decades that followed, the location of the island was lost, and inhabitants of the Korinn Archipelago knew only that it lay somewhere in the west of the isles.[2]

Inhabitants[]

By the mid–14th century DR, the island's only inhabitant was Keestake.[4]

Notes[]

  1. An exact location of the island is shown in The Forgotten Realms Atlas, although it is inconsistent with the original description given in Treasure Hunt: the former shows the island southwest of Pandira while the latter says it is due north.
