A wand of magic detection was a magical wand that had the power to detect the typical magical auras emanated by spells and magic items.[1]
Powers[]
The wielder of a wand of magic detection could activate it to cast the detect magic spell up to three times a day. The wand gradually recovered its power at each successive dawn.[1] Cheaper variations of the wand could be used an unlimited number of times per day, but expired after 50 uses total[5]
