Warm was a useful cantrip that apprentice wizards could learn.[4][5][6] It raised the temperature of a quantity of liquid or solid matter.[1][2][3]
Effects[]
This cantrip had a range of 30 feet (9.1 meters).[4][5][6] It was similar to the chill cantrip and worked on non-living[note 1] liquids and solids that amounted to no more than 1 cubic foot (28 liters) in volume. The rise in temperature was about 40 ℉ (22 ℃) but could not go above 140 ℉ (60 ℃). The cantrip and temperature change were nearly instantaneous but thereafter the heated material acted normally in the conditions surrounding it, slowly cooling back down to the ambient temperature.[1][2][3]
Components[]
This cantrip required verbal and somatic components to cast. The caster vigorously rubbed both hands together and said aah.[1][2][3]

Notes[]
- ↑ The original description of chill in Dragon #59 allowed for a limited effect on living things, but this was removed in Wizard's Spell Compendium Volume Four. Since this is the compliment of chill, the same stipulation was applied.
