Warmfires House was a rented farmhouse in Shadowdale during the mid-to-late 14th century DR.[1]
Location[]
Warmfires House lay in a bend of the River Ashaba, on the northern edge of central Shadowdale; the surrounding area had come to be called "Northend".[1]
Structure[]
It was a roomy, sprawling farmhouse.[1]
Interior[]
The place had a dance floor and feast hall, rooms with bathing pools, and luxury bedchambers. The upper story had several meeting rooms.[1] The ground floor also had jakes and a cloakroom. One of the upper-story rooms, presumably a meeting room, had tables, carpets, and a fireplace.[2]
Services[]
Warmfires house could be rented for periods of up to a tenday at a time.[1]
Defenses[]
There was a guard post nearby.[1]
Staff[]
Most of the other staff were undercover Harper forces.[3]
History[]
Warmfires House was a venture by Sembian investors. It received a number of visitors, including local scribe Maervidal Iloster, on tours during its grand opening. After Lord Mourngrym Amcathra had a guard post installed nearby, the surrounding area came to be called "Northend", and a new cluster of shops and houses had risen around it.[1]
The Zhentarim rented the place for a revel at some point in the Year of the Gauntlet, 1369 DR. During the revel, they planned on slaying Maervidal Iloster, but he never came, being substituted by a disguised Storm Silverhand.[2] By the end of the night, many of the Zhentarim were slain by her, with the rest of them captured by the staff.[3]
