The Watch Citadel, or Stormkeep,[1] was the headquarters of the Watch in Baldur's Gate. It served as staging area, training grounds, and a temporary holding area, when needed.[2] Operations in the Citadel were overseen by its castellan, the High Constable and Master of Walls.[3]

Geography[]

The Citadel was located in the Citadel Streets district of the Upper City.[4] The district and the Citadel itself were well protected by the grand Citadel Gate, which controlled traffic between them and the rest of the Upper City.[5]

Activities[]

Within the walls of the Citadel, watch members trained for their duties and maintained their logistical resources to guard the Upper City. They patrolled the streets of its various districts, enforced curfew at sundown, and protected the interests of the Baldurian patriar.[2]

History[]

In the Year of Three Ships Sailing, 1492 DR, the citadel was partially destroyed and damaged by the attack of the Absolut forces and nautiloid ships.[6]
