Watchers, also known derisively as Godseyes,[1] were specialty priests devoted to Helm, He of the Unsleeping Eyes.[1][2]
Activities[]
As with all of Helm's clergy, watchers hoped to increase Helm's followers since its decline following the Time of Troubles.[2]
Abilities[]
It was difficult for others to surprise a watcher because of their constant vigilance. They could use several magical abilities on a daily basis including glyph of warding, sentry of Helm, wyvern watch, mace of Odo, exaltation, and seeking sword. They could also cast summon spectator once per tenday. A watcher's constant drilling with weaponry allowed to to strike nearly as quickly as a skilled warrior during combat.[2]
Possessions[]
Watchers only wielded bludgeoning weapons. Upon their initiation into the clergy watchers were given a full suit of plate armor, a great helm, and medium shield. This armor served as their ceremonial vestment and they were required to wear it at all times, or wear no armor at all, unless an emergency prevented it. The armor was usually everbright-enchanted.[2]
