A weanmother or word-wean mother[1] was a carer of a child in drow noble society.[2][1]
Activities[]
The role was delegated to a noble daughter of a noble drow house. Their job was to tend to the needs of a drow infant for ten years, teaching her or him the Drow language (including Drow Sign Language), how to manifest her or his spell-like abilities, and above all to teach the child their place in drow society, all while putting them to work.[2][1]
