The West Road was a trade route along the River Arkhen that stretched from Archenbridge in the south to White Ford in the north of Archendale.[2][3]
Geography[]
The road was located to the east of River Arkhen and to the west of Arch Wood, providing a safer passage for traders traveling through the Dale.[4]
Travel[]
The road stretched for about 45 miles (72 kilometers) between Archenbridge and White Ford.[5]
The West Road was overlooked by the old fortress called Swordpoint towering above the southern end of the road and the Arkhen Ford.[3][4]

Map[]
The leftmost pin of this map of Archenbridge represents the place where the West Road started paving its way to the north, deeper in Archendale. It also shows Swordpoint and Arkhen Ford.
Trivia[]
Baldur's Gate III: The Black Hound[]
Though it is not known if the road was intended to be added to the cancelled Baldur's Gate III: The Black Hound, the leaked game files mentioned a location called Shepherd's Glen. This place was mentioned being to the south of White Ford, according to J.E. Sawyer's blog called the The Herald of Archenbridge. This place could have been located on or near to the West Road.
