The Wheel Hall was a gambling hall in the Central Port of Skullport in the late 14th century DR.[1]

Structure[]

The Wheel Hall was a three-story building in good condition. A walkway on the second floor connected the building with the neighboring Keel Hall.[1]

Interior[]

The hall was named for its most distinctive feature, a massive wheel prominently displayed between the first and third floors. The wheel measured approximately 13 feet (4 meters) in diameter and was mounted vertically, enabling it to spin freely.[1]

Services[]

The hall offered a wide variety of drinks of good quality, though at exceptionally high prices.[1]

The central attraction of the hall was a game of chance in which brave participants spun the massive wheel while attendants, including festhall escorts and serving maids, oversaw the proceedings. Onlookers placed wagers on the outcome of the spin.[1]

The wheel was divided into thirteen unequal segments: three carried wholly negative consequences, three provide neutral outcomes (often entertaining to spectators), and three yielded positive results. One segment, the narrowest of all, remained a mystery and produced unpredictable effects. Previous outcomes of this segment ranged from lifelong enslavement or enforced combat with a monster selected by the crowd, to immense wealth in gold and gemstones. The specific result changes with each occurrence, sustaining the game's intrigue.[1]

Inhabitants[]

In 1370 DR, the owner of the Wheel Hall was Trenton Bartlowes.[1]
