Windle was a member of the Harpers who operated in the city of Neverwinter during the late 15th century DR.[1]

Personality[]

Windle was a sly but dutiful individual.[3]

Possessions[]

She had a magical lantern that could dispel illusions that were connected to the Shadowfell.[4]

History[]

Some years after the Siege of Neverwinter, that befell the city in the Year of the Ageless One, 1479 DR, Windle was stationed at the Neverdeath graveyard in the city. Working with Tristopher Chettlebell, she uncovered a plot by the Red Wizards involving the tomb of the Clockwork Guild.[1]

Some time later, she joined the efforts to defeat Valindra Shadowmantle at the Dread Ring that was constructed in Neverwinter Wood.[4]

When the Cult of the Dragon emerged as a threat to the Realms in the 1480s DR,[note 1] Harper Windle played an important role in Neverwinter's defense. She rallied together a group of adventurers to rebuff the assault of the green dragon Charthraxis. While investigating the cult's activities, she worked her fellow agent Boward and discovered an alliance between them and the renegade faction of Red Wizards.[3]

In the Year of the Warrior Princess, 1489 DR, she was the Harper delegated to help a hired adventuring party to defeat the great dragon Claugiyliamatar of Kryptgarden Forest. The Harpers' main objectives were to investigate some Red Wizards of Thay who had gained admittance into the new faction of the Cult of the Dragon, as well as to gain the alliance of fey lords of the forest.[2]

Notes[]

  1. Canon material does not provide a year for the Tyranny of Dragons storyline, but in a forum post, Greg Marks stated it was set in 1489 DR. However, the events of the Tyranny of Dragons are discussed in the novel Archmage, which is set in 1485/1486 DR and has events that necessarily put it after The Rise of Tiamat. Since this inconsistency has not been cleared up, this wiki will use the vague term "1480s DR" for events related to this storyline, though it is most likely no latter than 1486 DR.
