A wren was a passerine bird.
The needle wrens kept the locust population in check in the rimwood area of the forest of Cormanthor south of Shadowdale. They were received gratefully by local farmers. In 1366 DR, a huge swarm of fyreflies caused a fire that destroyed many of the pines in which the wrens live, causing fears among the farmers that a locust plague would result.
