Xemru Thaal was a high priest of Savras and leader of the House of the All-Seeing Orb in Tashluta during the late 15th century DR.[1]
“
It is my honor to have been selected as the first donor and recipient. By giving Valin a piece of myself and receiving a piece of her in return, I can help the fate of the world unfold as she has forseen.
”
— Excerpt from the letter accompanying The Canopic Being.[1]
History[]
Sometime during the the Year of the Scarlet Witch, 1491 DR, or early the following year, Xemru deposited the tome titled The Canopic Being within the shelves of Candlekeep, along with a hand-written note. Shortly thereafter he surrendered himself to the oracle of Tashluta, Valin Sarnaster, helping her achieve immortality as a mummy lord.[1] He became the first of her canopic golem, powerful constructs that protected the demiplane in which she resided.[2]
