The Inner Quarter was the most influential section within the city of Zhentil Keep during the mid–14th century DR.[1][2]
Location[]
The Inner Quarter was located at the heart of Zhentil Keep. It was surrounded to the north, east, and west by the Common Quarter, and to the south by the Harbor District.[1]
Description[]
A wall surrounded the entire quarter. Access through the walls was achieved by a gate on the western wall and another in the northeast. Both connected with the Common Quarter.[1] The walls once towered to a height of 60 feet (18 meters), but shrank to just 15 feet (4.6 meters) over the years as material was used in other construction projects like reinforcing the main outer wall of the city.[2]
Activities[]
The wealthiest and most influential people of Zhentil Keep lived within the Inner Quarter. Though walking about at night was generally not a good idea in Zhentil Keep, the Inner Quarter was far safer compared to the rest of the city.[2] Furthermore, all of the best craftsmen in Zhentil Keep worked in the Inner Quarter.[3]
History[]
The Inner Quarter lay within the boundary of the original Keep constructed by Flostren during the 9th century DR.[2]
Defenses[]
Zhentilar guardposts, barracks, and armories were situated throughout the entire quarter.[1]
